Frawley Signs is a locally owned and operated signwriting business offering a full range of custom signage services for businesses, trades and community groups.
We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern digital printing and vinyl-cutting technology to deliver vibrant, durable signs that suit every setting.
Our work covers everything from vehicle lettering and fleet graphics to shopfront signage, window decals, banners, wall graphics, and A-frames. We’re known for hands-on service, attention to detail, and designs that help clients stand out on the road or in their shopfront.
While vehicle signage remains one of our specialties, Frawley Signs is equipped to handle all signage needs, whether you need a single sticker or a full business rebrand.
Frawley Signs was founded in 1950 by John Frawley, a local artist who became known for creating the iconic "Welcome to Ferntree Gully" sign for the 1956 Olympic Games.
We were originally located in an area of Lower Ferntree Gully, now known as Burwood Highway, where John's sons, Mick & Simon, came to join the team - continuing the family legacy.
In the 70's, Frawley Signs had moved to The Railway Yard in Upper Ferntree Gully where the Frawley sons took over the company, with their sister Ann also joining the team.
Later the company moved to Ferntree Gully into a factory, fondly referred to as "The Shed". It was there where Frawley Signs expanded further, employing over 40+ people over the years. Amongst those tradespeople were Frawley nephews, continuing the family being involved in the company.
In '06, Frawley Signs relocated once again to "The Barn" in Upwey, where it has been proudly operating since.
In 2014, Trentt, Mick's son, joined the team and has been integral in helping the company move into the digital world.
